Bonfire night – 5th November

“Remember, remember the fifth of November,

Gunpowder, treason and plot.

I know of no reason

Why the gunpowder treason

Should ever be forgot.”

On the 5th November we celebrate Bonfire night in the UK. Families gather round the bonfire with sparklers and watch fireworks displays. Traditionally people made a guy with straw and old clothes representing Guy Fawkes* to throw onto the bonfire.

Bonfire = hoguera

Sparklers = bengalas
